The Bureau of the Frontier is a bureau of the Ministry of the Interior that inspects people and goods entering and leaving the Commonwealth. The Commonwealth is a major Atlantic entrepΓ΄t, and has thousands of vessels and aircraft transiting its territories daily. There are about 300 frontier offices, at almost every port and airport in the country, and the bureau is headquartered at Frontier House in Oslola.
Since foreign tourists do not use money while in the Commonwealth, they are charged package rates that cover their estimated consumption, and their bags are searched on the way out. Some 15% of the Commonwealth workforce are also foreign workers. Unlike domestic ones, they are remunerated unless residing under an immigration visa, and the bureau inspects their papers.
Its officers have no power of arrest. At sea, the frontier is kept by the customs cutters of the Littoral Service, which are often the first point of contact of Commonwealth sovereignty with smugglers, drug-runners and illegal fishermen.
