The Inspectorate Service is the statutory service of inspectors and auditors in the Commonwealth, all of whom work for the Federal Inspectorate. They inspect the federal ministries and parliaments, and the governments of the republics where a republic asks for it. Every officer passes through the Federal Inspectors’ College before a first posting, and the service was constituted in 1968.

Its cadre authority is the Ministry of the Commonwealth, which the service also inspects. Its rules of service include:

  • Promotion and discipline by a board confirmed by the Mandatory Ecclesia, not by the ministry.
  • No posting to a body the officer has inspected in the previous five years.
