The Federal Inspectorate inspects and audits the ministries and parliaments of the Commonwealth, and is an independent body of the Ministry of the Commonwealth. It is attached to the ministry for funding and administration but takes no direction from it, and its head is confirmed by the Mandatory Ecclesia.
Since the Ministry of the Commonwealth is itself inspected, promotion and discipline in the Inspectorate Service are decided by a board confirmed by the Ecclesia, and no officer may be posted to a body they have inspected in the previous five years. The accounts of the ministries are certified each quarter by the Commonwealth Accounts Service, and workplaces are inspected by the Bureau of Labour, and so the Inspectorate’s work is mostly with the running of the ministries themselves. Its reports are published each quarter.
