The Bureau of Labour is a constituent bureau of the Parliament of Milk and Honey in the Commonwealth. It establishes the hours and conditions of work in the country and has a broad role in basically every workplace in the country. Through its constituents, it also registers trade unions and investigates serious accidents at work.
Because most Commonwealth industry is automatic, a lot of traditional areas of concern on factory floors are mitigated today. A lot of the bureau’s work is instead in shops, offices and hospitals, and complicated by portfolio work common in the country. It does have oversight over foreign workers who may be paid a wage in the commons, but they represent a small fraction of workers in the country today.
The bureau also mediates disputes and can refer proceedings to the labour tribunals of the Bureau of Courts. Its inspectors and conciliation officers are officers of the Commonwealth Labour Service. The bureau was established in 1965 and its headquarters are in Kairi, beside Trades Congress House.
