The Commonwealth Labour Service is the statutory service of labour inspectors, conciliation officers and placement officers of the Parliament of Milk and Honey. Its officers hold the senior posts of the Bureau of Labour, the Bureau of Regular Service and the Bureau of Compulsory Service. It was constituted in 1975 under the Federal Labour Standards commission, which consolidated the separate inspectorates of several bureaus under a single safety code.
Labour inspectors have a right of entry to any workplace in the Commonwealth, and inspect safety, hours and the protection of personal work time. Wages are not paid in the commons, and most disputes handled by conciliation officers concern hours, placement and working conditions. Placement officers find work under Regular Service for people who would otherwise have none, and place young people during Corsosva.
