The Bureau of Security, commonly Vosevisi (SESEC), is the security directorate of the state and a bureau of the Parliament of State. It processes some Noshem material, and its subordinate State Secrets Office is also responsible for maintaining security controls and classifications. Vosevisi and Cosevac (POSEC) are the Security Directorates of the State and Public respectively. The bureau was established in 1954, and is headquartered at the Comet Federal Security Building.
Although it collects intelligence internally, most Commonwealth espionage is conducted overseas by Noshem, and the bureau’s own work is mostly counterintelligence and the watch on secessionist societies in the republics. Its budget, staff numbers and operations are not published. Several Commonwealth Bureaux provide intelligence to the Social Working Group, primarily through the Parliament of State, and Vosevisi is generally assumed to be one of them. Its work has prompted several commissions and parliamentary inquests by the Comptroller, and it is also a popular subject of conspiracy theorising.
Ministers, government premises and state occasions are guarded by its protection officers, who are constables of the Commonwealth Police Service holding the Protection endorsement. The endorsement is taught at the Commonwealth Police College in Comet.
The bureau is led by the Director of Security, a senior civil servant who reports to the Parliament of State and the Cabinet.
