The Atlantic National Labour Federation (ANLF) represents trade unions in the Caribbean and Atlantic republics of the Commonwealth, and is a recognised body of the Parliament of Milk and Honey. Most of its member unions are older than the commons, and were formed on the plantations and docks of the colonial period.
Since federalisation ends with the abolition of money, a lot of the federation’s work is in republics where it has not yet ended. Java has yet to transfer to the moneyless system of the rest of the country, and its cacao plantations, infamous under their Portuguese owners, are where the federation is strongest today. Its unions there still negotiate wages as well as hours and conditions, and many of its disputes are mediated by the Bureau of Labour. The federation has a reputation for being more confrontational than the Commonwealth Trades Congress, which most unions in the country belong to. The federation is headquartered in Kairi.
