The Commonwealth Olympic Committee (COC) is the national body for Olympic sport in the Commonwealth, and a recognised body of the Ministry of Culture, although its members and officers are not civil servants. It is attached to the Bureau of Sports, which supervises its work from day to day. The Committee selects and trains the national teams and organises the Commonwealth’s part in the Olympic Games and the Oceans’ Games.

The Oceans’ Games are held every four years in a member state of COMOC, and are organised by the Committee. The best-known Commonwealth Olympian is perhaps the gymnast Yelsi Visma, who represented the country at the 2000 Paris Olympics and was named Vekllei Person of the Year in 2025.
