Occidental Division is a sovereign formation of the Commonwealth Armed Forces that covers the ABC islands and western Antilles, seated at Fortress Aruba with an auxiliary air station at Caimanas. It fields only a minimal coastal picket flotilla of its own, drawing on neighbouring Divisions for heavier naval support when required, and instead carries a garrison and patrol-heavy character – the Occidental Patrol Section takes its name from the Division.

Amidst regular disputes with Colombia and Venezuela, the Occidental Division’s primary work is in patrol and anti-smuggling operations. It also conducts relief work in the Federal Republic of the Americas and its neighbours in Central America, for which it is levied occasionally.
