MSRE is part of the Parliament of Health and SIRO
The Commonwealth Medical Science Research Establishment (MSRE) is a research organisation of the Parliament of Health. It conducts sociological, medical, economic and technological research to assist with the efficiency and quality of the public health care system. Its innovations include the Standard Commonwealth MediBed, which is now used in every Vekllei hospital.
The establishment is one of the three authorities of the Atlantic Viral Surveillance System, with the Commonwealth Disease Commission and the Defence Viral Laboratories of the DSRE. Most of its clinical research is done at the Medical Science Research Centre in Kairi and a clinical research unit in Cama, beside the Commonwealth Medical University. The establishment also has the Commonwealth Tropical Medicine Research Unit at the University of Karu.
The MediBed was first built at the establishment’s Medical Technology Laboratory in Karu, and is still made there. It is a plain steel bed with a built-in terminal and scales, and a hospital ward of them is much the same in every republic.
