Commonwealth Laboratories (also National Labs) is the primary government research complex in Vekllei. It operates out of two main campuses complexes in Oslola and Kairi, and has auxiliary campuses in the Bahamas, Verde, and Sude. It is a part of SIRO.

The laboratories are the research arm of the Parliament of Education, and most of their scientists also hold a post at a university. The Kairi campus, the Commonwealth Educational Research Laboratories, studies how children learn, and keeps the trials of new units before they are added to the curriculum. The Oslola National Laboratory does most of the physical sciences, and has the largest particle accelerator in the country.

The auxiliary campuses are smaller. Commonwealth Laboratories keeps a marine research station on the northeast coast of Inagua that farms conch and spiny lobster, and its campus in Sude studies the whales around the island of Georgia, which have not been hunted for over a hundred years and are in recovery.
