The Bureau of Civic Heritage is a bureau of the Ministry of Culture. It is responsible for the national monuments, memorials and commemorations of the Commonwealth, including the war graves of the Civil and Atomic Wars. The bureau has a twofold role, in the memorials of the mid-20th Century and in the older sites of the colonial period. Sites in Kalina include the Golden Rock Memorial Graves Site on Aloi, a burial ground of enslaved peoples, and the Liberation Memorial in Pitera on Karu.
The bureau is also responsible for the Federal Calendar of national commemorations, and for the national days of each republic. The bureau is well-regarded by historians, since its research subsidies are not limited to the official account of the Commonwealth’s founding.
