    Naval Station Falklands is a major Vekllei military facility of the Vekllei Maritime Service located in Stanley Harbour of the Falklands. Originally established by the British in the mid-19th century as a coaling station for whalers and naval vessels, the station has since evolved into a primary component of Vekllei’s Antarctic Fleet operations and southern maritime defence doctrine.

    The station serves as the headquarters for the Antarctic Fleet and provides a military foundation for Vekllei’s sovereignty over the islands. Given the ongoing dispute with Argentina, regular encounters with Argentine naval vessels underscore the station’s strategic importance in maintaining Commonwealth territorial integrity in the South Atlantic. The facility houses several specialised installations, including a cold-weather warfare research centre operated by the DSRE and automated dry-dock facilities capable of servicing icebreakers and polar patrol vessels.
